What is the YES Programme?
The YES Programme is the YES initiative under the Department of Youth, Sport, Arts, and Culture. It is focused on reducing the unemployment rate of the youth in the country. It is a partnership with other leading employers like TFG to assist in providing YES to candidates aged between 18-29 years in South Africa. The TFG YES Sales Associate (120 hr) program offers selected candidates 120 hours of work per month for 12 months working part time. The work is in customer service, sales, and retail.

At the Jubilee Crossing Center in Hammanskraal, which is a widely envied shopping center, the Sportscene store helps to bridge the gap for young consumers and urban fashion. As a Sales Associate, you are in the middle of this experience where you create the magic by captivating customers and helping them find the right fit, in addition to your stock responsibilities and keeping up the vibe of the store.
Who should apply?
There are a few non negotiables that disqualifies a candidate for this position.
Targets are between the ages of 18 to 29 years old.
At least a Grade 10 level, but Matric is far more desirable.
Candidates should be currently unemployed.
Candidates should not be studying fulltime.
Candidates should not have taken part in the YES programme previously.
This position is best suited for young people who reside or live close to Hammanskraal, hoping to work with a highly respected brand while growing themselves.
What will you learn?
Over the 12 months of the learnership, you will learn:
Customer Service Skills. Develop the skill of conversing with customers of different personalities and doing so in a professional but friendly manner.
Sales Techniques: Learn how to upsell items, achieve goals set for the store, and enhance the overall customer shopping experience.
Stock Management: Gain practical knowledge and skills in merchandising, taking inventory, and planning for in-store displays.
Teamwork & Communication: Collaborate with a multi-cultural team in a busy setting, developing your relational and critical thinking skills.
This experience will enhance your CV and may lead to structural employment within TFG or the wider retail sector.
