Job Title: Cashier
Since the Cashier is the first touch point that a customer has with the business, their role is to ensure that customer interactions are as pleasant as possible. It is their responsibility to ensure that every customer spends as little time as possible, while leaving with a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete purchase and return transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
Utilize point of sale (POS) registers and follow all registers cash handling policies and procedures.
Deliver customer service and respond to simple customer inquiries about the company’s products.
Keep the cash till and surrounding workstation tidy, orderly and free of clutter.
Assist in the overall store operations as required.
Help achieve daily sales and service targets as part of the team.
Requirements:
Matric or Grade 12 certificate
Prior experience as a cashier and in retail is an advantage.
Good listening and communication skills.
Willing and able to work weekends, public holidays and retail hours.
Demonstrate attention to detail and possess effective mathematics skills.
Demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team as well as to work independently.
