Yes Learnership Application-SBV

The Yes Learnership Application -SBV is an alliance between YES (Youth Employment Service), which seeks to enable employment prospects among young South Africans, and SBV Services, a premier South African cash-in-transit and security company. The learnership is part of an initiative to address South Africa’s out-of-control level of youth unemployment by offering systematic work prospects, training, and education.

The program has theory combined with work experience in which participants obtain practical skills and knowledge that make them more viable in the employment sector. It is particularly of great importance in a country whose high levels of unemployment, specifically among young people, are among its greatest problems.

What Does the Program Provide?
Skills Development and Training: The Yes Learnership-SBV participants are given industry-specific training that addresses both technical and soft skills. These include financial management, customer service, security operations, risk management, and others. The skills acquired through the program are highly sought after by employers, thus making the participants well qualified for different positions in the workforce.

Workplace Experience: The learnership offers the participant the opportunity to work under the supervision of experts in the cash-in-transit and security industries, gaining valuable work experience to place on their resumes. The combination of theoretical study and hands-on training enables participants to learn about the actual world of the workplace, and thus become more employable.

Certifications: On successful completion of the program, learners get a nationally certified qualification. The accredited certification is important in boosting the chances of being employed because it serves as a proof of the skill and knowledge obtained under the learnership.

Career Opportunities: Perhaps one of the best benefits of the Yes Learnership-SBV program is that it can lead to permanent work. Some of the individuals enrolled in the program are offered permanent positions at SBV Services or its affiliate companies after they finish the program, which provides them with the possibility of further advancing their careers.
