About the Role
As a Laundry Assistant, you will play a critical part in developing a clean and secure environment for patients and health professionals. You will be engaged in the processing of all hospital linen, staff uniforms, and other significant items to satisfy cleanliness and infection control standards.
Main Responsibilities:
Laundry Processing: Sort and gather hospital linen, patient gowns, and staff uniforms and process them through correct procedures and machinery.
Hygiene Standards: Follow infection control guidelines to make sure that all is properly sanitized and free of contaminants.
Equipment Maintenance: Make sure industrial washing and drying equipment is used properly and safely.
Inventory Management: Monitor the inventory of uniforms and linens, ensuring that adequate supplies are maintained at all times.
Quality Control: Inspect linens and uniforms for quality and report any damaged or inappropriate items.
Team working: Work with other hospital staff to make sure that cleanliness items are delivered promptly and help towards a smooth-running of the day-to-day operations in the hospital.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a laundry or cleaning role would be ideal, but is not required. The complete training course will be undertaken.
Care for detail: You should take great care to ensure cleanliness and hygiene, with every task being delivered to an extremely high standard.
Physical Stamina: The job entails standing, lifting, and working with linens, so applicants should be physically capable of performing these tasks.
Team Player: Having the ability to work cooperatively as a team is important for this job, ensuring that all processes are performed smoothly and efficiently.
