For the intake of 2025, Marula Platinum is seeking eager individuals to learn and grow their careers within the mining industry.

Marula Platinum Learnerships: Key Features
Comprehensive Training
Marula Platinum offers an extensive training programme to the successful candidates. It is made up of theoretical learning and on-the-job exposure at the mines of Marula Platinum. Learners, through the blend of classroom teaching and field experience, will develop a deeper understanding of mine operations, safety procedures, and technical competency.

Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a National Qualification Framework (NQF) accredited certificate, which is highly recognized in the mining industry. This qualification will give a boost to their career opportunities and open doors for future career growth.

Stipend and Benefits
Recipients of the Marula Platinum Learnership program also receive a monthly stipend to cover their living expenses. Additionally, the company provides comprehensive health and safety procedures to safeguard its learners.

We are currently recruiting for the following trades:

Diesel Mechanic
Boilermaker Plater
Electrical
Fitting (Including Machining)
Purpose of the Learnership
The purpose of this learnership programme is to train and develop individuals to become qualified artisans through structured learning and practical experience at Marula Mine.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
To qualify for this excellent opportunity, candidates should have:

Grade 12 / STD 10 / NQF Level 4 equivalent – essential
Minimum N2 Certificate with four (4) complete subjects or NCV Level 4, with subjects pertinent to the trade – essential
Be prepared to:
Sit for a knowledge and psychometric test
Go through a formal interview
Obtain a medical fitness certificate (Red Ticket) and undergo Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS)
Key Performance Areas
As part of the learnership, the successful applicants will:

Receive formal artisan training
Assist qualified artisans and perform technical tasks of repairing, replacing, and servicing equipment
Complete engineering training phases through on-the-job and off-the-job training
Familiarize themselves with Marula Mine rules, safety procedures, and engineering standards
Learn and perform under the guidance of a mentor (foreman or artisan)
Perform fault-finding, problem-solving, and accurate reporting
Perform maintenance of engineering equipment to prevent loss of production
Acquire basic supervisory skills
