MICT SETA-is rolling out its 2025 three-month skills course

Nowadays, having basic digital know-how is almost as important as having a bank account, so the Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority-MICT SETA-is rolling out its 2025 three-month skills course. The project tries to close the digital gap by giving young South Africans hands-on, industry-ready lessons so they can step confidently into tomorrows workplace.

What is the MICT SETA three-month skills training course?

The MICT SETA three-month skills training course is a short, full-time programme that teaches high-demand ICT and digital tools to unemployed youth, recent grads, and anyone eager to up-skill. It runs with accredited training centres and matches the goals set out in the National Skills Development Plan.

Location: Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Date posted: 06 June 2025
Closing date: 17 June 2025
Salary: R 1,800.00 per month – Stipend
Job type: Fixed-term
Industry: Other NGO, community or personal services (personal care, sport, media etc.)

What’s on deck for 2025? Honestly, this lineup’s kinda stacked:

– Digital literacy—yeah, the basics, but way more important than folks admit.
– Cybersecurity 101, because nobody wants to get hacked by some kid in a basement.
– Cloud computing. If you don’t know what that is yet, it’s time.
– Data analytics and visualization. Basically, making sense of the chaos and turning numbers into stuff people can actually understand.
– Software dev basics. Not everyone’s gotta be a code ninja, but knowing your way around is a power move.
– Graphic design and multimedia—because ugly slides are a crime.
– Network admin. Someone’s gotta keep the WiFi working, right?
– Digital marketing. Otherwise, who’s seeing your stuff? Nobody, that’s who.

Each course is cooked up to actually matter in the real world, not just look good on a resume. You’ll walk away with skills you can actually use, not just buzzwords to sprinkle around in meetings.
