Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (or equivalent)
  • SA Citizen
  • Resident of City of Ekurhuleni (proof of residence is required)
  • Computer literate
  • Communication skills
  • Customer service orientated
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

Core Responsibilities: Training:

  • Work for the employer as part of the learning process
  • Be available for and to participate in all learning and work experience required by the learnership
  • Comply with workplace policies and procedures
  • Complete any timesheets or any written assessment tools supplies by the employer to record relevant workplace experience
  • Attend all study periods and theoretical learning sessions with the training provider and undertake all learning conscientiously

Core Responsibilities: Placement:

    • Work for the employer as part of the learning process
    • Handling inbound and outbound calls
    • Answer and process customer calls efficiently, following company scripts and guidelines
    • Assist customers with order placements, inquiries, complaints, and general support
    • Provide clear and professional communication, ensuring customer satisfaction
    • Accurately capture and update customer details in the system
    • Follow up on customer queries and unresolved issues to ensure timely resolution
    • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to enhance call handling

Successful candidates will undergo structured training to develop their customer service skills, communication techniques, and call handling proficiency. Career advancement opportunities available for dedicated and high-performing agents and performance incentives and career growth opportunities.

Successful candidates will be expected to enter into a learnership agreement with the applicable SETA and contract of learnership programme with the City.

Applicants are limited to apply for only one category. Applicants MUST NOT be active on the CoE HR System when programme commences.

Should candidates not be informed of the outcome of the application within eight weeks of the closing date, it should be regarded as having been unsuccessful. The City of Ekurhuleni subscribes to the principles of the Employment Equity Act and reserves the right to appoint, not appoint or to appoint laterally.
