The successful applicant will be expected to teach pre-primary school children, assist in shaping young minds to achieve good grades. They will assist learners to improve their reading and writing vocabularies.

Foundation Phase – Educator Assistants 2024 – Assistant Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12/high school certificate
Over 2 years experience in a nursery or primary setting
Able to work a Classroom independently

Grade R Teacher Assistant

School: Clifton School, Morningside, Durban

Start Date: Term 2 of 2025

Responsibilities:

Assist the Grade R teacher in classroom activities

Assist with administrative tasks

Create a positive learning environment

Requirements:

Teaching Assistant experience

Diploma in Early Childhood Development (NQF5)

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Skill to build trusting relationships with students, teachers, and parents

Duties And Responsibilities
Set rigorous and challenging goals for students
Monitor student progress on a regular basis
Use assessment data to adjust instructional content and delivery modes accordingly

Greet deans and learning designers weekly to plan a new teaching practices
Fully participate in professional development activities like daily team meetings and reflections
Notify parents technologically or in person when the is parent-teacher conferences
Participate in co-curricular programming for at least one activity per term
Participate in a variety of collaborative committees and teams, fulfill supervision responsibilities as assigned
