The SCM Underground Division, MTC Underground Mining (MTCUM), invites qualified and experienced professionals to join our dynamic and growing team. We presently have challenging career opportunities in various positions within underground mining. We are inviting applications for the following:

1. Drill Rig/Roof Bolter Operator
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12

Drill Rig/Roof Bolter Certificate of Competence

Four (4) years’ experience as a machine operator in bord and pillar underground occupation or any mining industry work with the same job.

2. LHD Operators
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12

LHD Operator Certificate of Competence

Four (4) years’ experience as an underground operation LHD Operator or any similar work in the mining industry.

3. Winch Operator
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12

Winch Operator Certificate of Competence, Competency B

At least two (2) years experience as a Winch Operator in Underground Mines.

4. Rock Drill Operator
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent

Rock Drill Operator Certificate, Competency B

At least one (1) year experience as an Artisan Rock Drill Operator in underground mining operations.

5. Engineering Assistant
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent

Engineering N2 Course

At least one (1) year experience in an engineering environment as an Artisan Assistant.

6. Belt Attendant
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent

Belt Attendant Certificate

At least one (1) year experience in a mining environment as a General Worker or an equivalent position.
